It gives a cleaner pickup at lower revs because it stops gas being recycled, especially if it is dirty or jammed open. It can put on the engine management light, but will not put it into limp mode. The light can also come on if the throttle body is broken, and a plate fitted, very common on these engines. The plate fit's between the cylinder head and the EGR valve, at the back of the engine directly below the throttle body (2bolts) not easy to fit, but being slotted. The valve doesn't need to be removed to fit, the bolts are just loosened, and the plate slipped in place. It also has a tag, so that long nose pliers can be used to fit it. It does NOT fit between the EGR valve and the EGR cooler (3 bolts). \u003cbr\u003e  It only fits the type of EGR valve pictured. Engine codes Y13DT, Z13DT AND Z13DTJ. Will not fit the Euro5 or engines fitted with motorized valve that are set in a cast Aluminium water cooled unit.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eBenefits of blocking EGR\u003cbr\u003e   1.
